I am a native West Virginian who has enjoyed the West Virginia outdoors for more than thirty-five years. Through these experiences I have developed an uncommon knowledge and respect for this amazing area. I want to share those experiences with you just as my father shared them with me. Our past guests will tell you that trips with the West Virginia Experience is about more than catching fish or bagging your limit of game. We consider our guests to be our friends. I invite you to experience the amazing hospitality that only a native West Virginian can provide. The West Virginia Experience family looks forward to sharing the sights, sounds and tastes of West Virginia with you.

Growing up a stones throw from the confluence of the New and Gauley rivers it was easy to find an excuse to make my way to the nearest fishing hole. It wasn't a rare occasion to find myself in a boat with my father or grandfather on a weekly, or in the summer, a daily basis. It wasn't until my late teens I discovered that I could actually do what my teachers swore to me throughout my entire childhood that I couldn't... Make a life out of fishing and hunting! It's very fulfilling to share the things I've learned from growing up in such a beautiful place with people who come here because of its beauty. I love seeing the joy on peoples faces when they settle into their seat for the day and they start taking it all in. This place has it's own way of teaching us that each day is a blessing and when you get right down too it, It's ALL about the experience.

Growing up I was fortunate to have a beautiful smallmouth river flowing through the family farm. This stretch of water made me the  smallmouth junkie I am today.  Upon receiving a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Hocking College, I moved to Fayetteville, WV to pursue a career as a river guide.  I have spent the last seven years providing guests with memorable experiences on the great rivers that West Virginia has to offer.  When I'm not guiding you can typically find me hunting, fly-fishing high mountain streams for trout, or rafting class V rivers.

Wild Wonderful West Virginia, that's where I was born and raised. my father had me in the outdoors at the age of five, growing up hunting and fishing everything from brook trout streams, to the amazing rivers here in WV and local lakes. I started the industry in 1989 whitewater rafting and in 1993 started float fishing the local rivers with an obsession.
