Testimonials

Dear Larry,
I’m sorry it took me a while to write my thank you note. It was crazy coming back to work for both of us.

I want to thank you, Doug, Joe and Dusty for all the fun time we had floating, fishing and camping on the New River. From being picked up at the hotel till we were done on the 3rd day, we felt lucky to have the crew we had.

Doug put us on fish; he is a fun and smart guide, patient and I am most grateful that he minded the rapids the way he did knowing that I am terrified of them. THe care and attention he gave us was greatly appreciated. He took Steve out early one morning (it was the smell of bacon that drew them back to camp) and they went out before supper and fished till dark. He is a good man. We talked about science, Math, nature but mostly we talked about fish and fishing. We know more about the history of the river He loves to fish! More often the conversations between Steve and Doug are like listening to old fishing buddies chatting away, nary a care in the world when they talked of their fishing experiences and the waters they had fished. Doug knows every fish in the New River and where they are hiding. He is an awesome guide and I dont use the word ‘awesome’ often.

Speaking of more awesomeness, then there is the lovable Grinch, chef extraordinaire-, Joe. Even when we first met, he greeted us as if we are family. The manner he took care of our food and drinks; such professionalism and yet down to earth. The presentation and the options of goodies for all meals, especially breakfasts and dinners were as tasty as it looked. He has an infectious friendly smile and wonderful company like Doug. I stayed behind when Steve and Doug went out for the evening bite and I couldnt helped but noticed how efficient he was at prepping the food. He got it down to a science. A sign of a true professional, he made it looked effortless. In our excitement to start our adventure, we forgot about our sleeping bags and Joe, gave us his to share. He even went to get ours from our parked car. It is this kind of no-problem-at-all attitude and approach of your folks that showed us that we were indeed matched with the best crew.

There is our young man Dusty, who owes me a recording. Even though we spent merely the time to Thayer and from the pick up point, he was sweet, cordial, engaging and we managed to share such personal time with him; felt like we know him. He knows where the fish and snakes are in the area. Sweet, sweet guy.

There is another sweet and awesome fella, a certain Mr. Larry Nibert. You made this all possible. From the first conversation, I was convinced to not even try to call other outfits. Form just the phonecalls, I was taken by your engaging manner, your willingness to accommodate us and our requests; I sensed you will make it special as we celebrated 2 significant milestones of our lives. The personal touches you added; meeting us, the special delicious cakes your mom made, checking in with Joe to see how we are; all this made it extra special.

Larry, thank you so much for everything. You and the boys made our celebrations even more memorial.

Most sincerely,
Faridah

Larry,

Again your team is truly amazing, what a great trip!! From the President to us workers bees it was truly and Experience!!.. We have already discussed coming back down next year and doing it again. Even the guys who hadn’t fished in years had a great time and was truly impressed with your guides knowledge of the river and the stories they tell along the way. Every boat caught more fish than they could keep track. I think this trip has brought the group closer together as friends but also colleagues in a way that can only be done through team building trips. I hope to be talking with you soon to plan another trip in 2013, I know the guys here are ready to head back to the gorge.

Larry,
It has come to be expected now, that when we choose to bring our groups of valued customers together for a fishing trip on the New River, we not only prefer, but automatically contact our friends at West Virginia Experience, for your service. The professional courtesies that you and your experienced team of guides provide, make it the best atmosphere for not only fellowship but the ability to conduct some extra business in a relaxing setting.
We have worked together for the past 3 years now and, know that as soon as I make the call, give you the number of attendees, who will be attending and the format we are expecting, you have been extremely accommodating to put the entire package together.
As it has come to be known as the ”Coca-Cola Fishing Challenge” over the past few years, we receive feedback all of the time as to how well the trip is put together, the fun that was had, the fish we did or did not catch and most importantly, “Are we doing it again, this year?”. We have always had a great experience with your guides, who go the extra mile to prepare the boat, the equipment and provide local knowledge relative to fishing and technique.
I look forward to planning our trips this year and will be in touch shortly to coordinate the dates and group.
Sincerely,

Nick Adams
